In 1980
the company Laeveld Busdiens [Pty] Ltd., was
incorporated with Messrs. Abel Erasmus and Fred
Kinnear as directors and shareholders, to
purchase the bus services in the Ellisras area
and the services of Sticks Nyalunga, operated
by Heyneke Bus Services between Acornhoek,
Bushbuckridge to Sabie, Graskop and White
River.
Another
company, Nyalunga’s Bus Service [Pty] Ltd., was
incorporated in September 1981 with the

This
company acquired the services from Z S Nyalunga
and also purchased the Acornhoek Bushbuckridge
services from Laeveld Busdiens [Pty]
Ltd.
The
shares in Laeveld Busdiens [Pty] Ltd. were sold
to Mr Louis Rossel who continued with the
operation at Ellisras.
Nyalunga’s Bus Service operated
services in the Kabokweni area as well as from
Pienaar [Msogwaba] to White
River.
The
services between Pienaar, Daantjie and Lekazi
and Nelspruit as well as the services in the
Nkomazi area were operated by Matsebula’s Bus
Service.
Matsebula’s Bus Service was
originally started by the late Messrs. Samuel
and Michael Mathebula, who were later joined by
their brother, Joseph Mathebula. Matsebula’s
Bus Service merged with Nyalunga’s Bus Service
under the Managing Directorship of Mr Fred
Kinnear.
The
amalgamation took effect on 1 May 1985. The
Nyalunga brothers sold their shares and the
name of the company was changed to Matsebula’s
Bus Services [Pty] Ltd.

Today,
Buscor [Pty] Ltd. operates more than 400 buses
of which the majority are train buses,
transporting approximately 36 million
passengers per annum and covers a distance of
approximately 30 million kilometres per
annum.
Buscor
[Pty] Ltd. has grown into a company known as
being a pioneer regarding technological
development in the passenger transport industry
and earned the title of the largest bustrain
operator in
Africa.

Mr Fred Kinnear
, founding
member of Buscor (Pty) Ltd and an
entrepreneur par excellence, is the
appointed Managing Director of Buscor
(Pty) Ltd. He has not only been involved
in passenger transport for more
than 40 years, but has been
instrumental in developing social and
service infrastructures for the
communities which he has served. He also
represents Protours Isle of Man, the
major shareholder and is also the
founding member of ProTours which now
operates as a division of Buscor (Pty)
Ltd.
Ms Nora Fakude-Nkuna
, a well-known
and respected business person who was the
awarded Business Women of 2003 in South Africa.
Nora also holds the position of being the
Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Buscor
(Pty) Ltd.
Mr Timothy Mathebula
, took over from
his father, the late Mr Joseph Mathebula who
was the founding member of the largest and most
efficiently operated commuter bus service in
the Mpumalanga Province of South Africa. His
family was instrumental in the establishment of
Mathebula Transport, the same company that
later changed to Buscor
(Pty)Ltd.
