On Friday, Buscor Transport Services turned a normal day into a special and meaningful event at Siyaphila Old Age Centre. What was planned as a Buscor’s Back-to-School Drive became a beautiful day of giving, gratitude, and celebration. The event focused on giving learners school bags and lunch boxes while also celebrating the belated birthday of Dr. Norah Fakude, whose birthday was on 02 February.
From the beginning of the program, it was clear that this was more than just a donation drive. It was a day filled with appreciation, unity, and a shared goal of supporting the community.
Celebrating a Woman Who Inspires a Province
The event opened with heartfelt words from Ms. Sindi, who clearly explained the purpose of the day. The team gathered not only to give back to the children but also to celebrate an amazing woman who has touched many lives. Everyone stood at Siyaphila Centre in gratitude because God blessed them with such a wonderful woman. They felt thankful to celebrate her while handing out school bags and lunch boxes to the children.
Her message created a warm and grateful atmosphere.
Mr. Nkuna spoke on behalf of the Buscor team and delivered a strong message of appreciation. He said that if provinces had their own presidents, Dr. Norah Fakude would lead Mpumalanga because of everything she does for the people. He also explained that many children study, work, and eat each day because of her dedication. In closing, Mr. Nkuna thanked God for her life and wished her many more years ahead.
Mrs. Dolly Fakude, a family member, also shared kind and heartfelt words about her character, strength, and passion for helping others. These messages clearly showed how much people value and respect her.
A Centre That Feeds, Protects and Nurtures
Gogo Masesi, speaking on behalf of Siyaphila Centre, expressed sincere thanks to the Buscor team and Dr. Norah Fakude.
She shared that the centre provides safety, care, and daily meals for those who live there. With pride, she added that residents feel safe, have access to their own clinic, and receive meals every single day. Both elders and children benefit from this daily support.
In addition, Gogo Masesi mentioned that the centre supports more than 480 children each day and feeds them without complaint. Her message reminded everyone how important the centre is to the community. Siyaphila is not just a building; it is a place of care, support, and hope.

The happiest moment of the day came when it was time to hand out the school bags. Four schools were present to receive the donations: Somcuba Primary School, Vukasambe Primary School, Mbokodo Primary School, and Sindzawonye Primary School.
