Buscor, a leading public transport company, partnered with MAN Truck & Bus South Africa hosted a friendly soccer and netball tournament to celebrate Youth Day at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday, 15 June.
The event aimed to promote health lifestyle and friendship among employees, highlighting the strong partnership between the two companies.
The tournament was exciting, with the Buscor netball team winning against MAN Truck & Bus’s Assembly team. In soccer, Buscor’s second team won with a 2-1 victory over MAN Truck & Bus in the finals, making Buscor champions in both sports.

Strengthening a Longstanding Partnership
According to Buscor Managing Director Timothy Mathebula, the importance of the event is in building friendship between the two companies. “This tournament is about the friendship between Buscor and MAN Truck & Bus. MAN Truck & bus supplies us with quality buses, helping us provide excellent services in South Africa and beyond. Our partnership has grown for over 30 years, and events like this strengthen our relationship.”
Matsebula was pleased with the turnout and support from both companies, with around 600 people attending from various provinces, including Johannesburg and Petersburg.

According to Jan Aichinger, Managing Director of MAN Truck & Bus South Africa, celebrated the tournament’s ten-year anniversary. He admired Buscor’s competitive spirit, stating, “This event is not just about winning; it’s about celebrating sportsmanship, fairness, and our passion for excellence. Our goal is to unite as companies, create happy memories, and build a strong relationship among our employees.”

Zenzo Khumalo, coach of the Buscor netball team, expressed pride in their victory. “We won today because of consistent training and teamwork. This is our second win, and we aim to defend our title even next year,” Khumalo said.
